Starting this past January, I have been mentoring two college students from my Alma Mater. It has been a very rewarding experience. As I document my learnings from the mentoring relationship, I continue to research how I can be a more effective mentor.
I recently found this great Harvard Business Review article, which really sums up my perspective thus far.
Point #2 on “Focus on character rather than competency” and point #3 “Shout loudly with your optimism, and keep quiet with your cynicism” really resonated with me.
Please take a moment to comment on your mentoring experiences, both as a mentor and/or mentee.
